Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake

1¾ cups boiling water

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
½ cup margarine
2 eggs
1¾ cups flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cocoa
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, divided
¾ cup walnuts, chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour boiling water over oats; let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes. Add sugars and margarine to oatmeal. Stir until margarine melts. Add eggs and mix well. Then add flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa, stirring until well blended. Add half of chocolate chips. Pour batter into greased 9×13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle nuts and remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake 40 minutes.
